The Opera House has never looked like this.

Bennelong Restaurant Wedding

I can't control what plays out in front of my camera.

At certain times of the day I can coax. I can (.. and will) cajole. Gently suggest. But 90% of it is running by the seat of my pants. Reacting instinctively. Feeling instead of thinking, whatever is happening.

Sometimes it huge overwhelming displays of emotion.

Sometimes it's a light show that smacks you in the face.

Sometimes it's the beauty in the mundane.

A knowing glance. A squeezed hand. The way someone unconsciously unfurls into someone that speaks volumes about their sense of home and comfort and safety.

Sometimes it's a raging dance floor. A cute kid. A community that visibly and clearly loves one another. A drunk uncle. A couple with outrageous sense of style.

Whatever it is. I just try do it justice. Tell the story honesty. Beautifully, yes, with soul and a strong sense of style, hopefully, but above all capture the beating heart of what is front of me so that when people see themselves and those they love they think to themselves - Yes. These are not just "wedding" photographs. They are ours. They are us.

This time it was proof that still waters run deep. That love doesn't always have to be loud and in your face to be real. To be true.

And that the light at Bennelong is outrageous.
