Kat & Zach
A Wes Anderson inspired celebration of colour and design.
The Cove Jervis Bay Wedding
What do the best experiences have in common?
Connection (to each other). Disconnection (from the world at large). A sense of surprise. Of presence. Of wonder. Being ever so slightly pushed out of your comfort zone.
Cat & Zach met in the office. Sparks flew (in one direction). Cat began nursing a crush that grew so large it threatened to consume her. Deciding late one night on a work trip that discretion was not the better part of valour, she arose from bed, knocked on Zach’s door & respectfully but with no equivocation told him she was very interested, & he could do with that information what he will.
Zach - as many intelligent, emotionally perceptive & successful men are - was completely blindsided - if wholly interested. They worked together, he thought it best to go slow. So slow they went.
For a week.
And then.
Over 36 questions (or perhaps a few shy) to fall in love, they fell in love. Slowly, at first, & then all at once.
After a few years, a worlds worth of questions & a growing family they set about planning a weekend that mimicked their story thus far. A 3 day, Wes Anderson inspired affair, designed to give an experience like no other.
Picture.
A long drive down a dirt road. 15 minutes in, sunlight glinting through the gums, you notice your reception is gone. You check in & head to dinner where you sit at an arranged place - away from anyone you know - where you are fed, wined, & directed to open a pack of cards & answer the very same questions they fell in love over. You spend the next 2 days eating, dancing, drinking & celebrating, cementing old ties & forming new ones, as kids & kangaroos alike run roughshod through it all with nothing but joyful chaos & the next meal on their minds.
The Kitschkes. Living in the present moment. Creating a 3 day playground for the young & young at heart. Fostering connection. Gifting experience. Asking good questions. And forever falling more in love.
It takes a village.
